Press Release
Mattia Paoli’s solo exhibition follows his prestigious victory of the Cardo d’Argento Award, received on November 3, 2024. This new show represents a significant artistic evolution for the artist, who explores uncharted creative territories through works characterized by bold use of color and material experimentation on raw and traditional canvases.
The presented compositions are abstract paintings that transcend defined forms, unfolding into diptychs, triptychs, and complex chromatic assemblies. The canvases interact with each other, creating a limitless visual universe where space and color merge to suggest infinite horizons and open perspectives.
Paoli’s works reflect a deep meditation on contemporary reality, often perceived as static and shaped by repetitive patterns. Through his art, he invites the public to overcome such barriers and rediscover the freedom of creative thought, embarking on an emotional journey that transcends the visible.
This project marks a decisive turning point compared to his previous solo exhibition, Tracce nel Tempo (2018), focused on human traces left in the environment. While that show explored tangible, concrete imprints, Paoli now abandons physical references altogether to explore a freer, more abstract artistic language.
The horizon, a symbol of reflection and discovery, becomes a metaphor for infinite possibilities, inspiring an open dialogue between the artist and the viewer.
