Pop romanticismo Caffè Bargioni

PRESS RELEASE

From March to June 2026, Caffè Bargioni in Florence hosts the new photography exhibition by Mattia Paoli.

From March to June 2026, the tea room of Caffè Bargioni, in Via Giampaolo Orsini 103r, Florence, will host the new photographic exhibition by Mattia Paoli, an unprecedented artistic project that intertwines historical memory, aesthetic research, and contemporary visual experimentation.

The exhibition presents a selection of photographic works inspired by the great civilizations of the past, with particular reference to Greek, Roman, and Renaissance sculpture, reinterpreted through a contemporary sensibility linked to the language of Pop Romanticism.

The project stems from the desire to establish a dialogue between different eras, transforming classical forms into new images capable of evoking current emotions and meanings.

A distinctive element of the exhibition is the use of the overlapping technique, through which the artist intervenes on the perception of light without altering the original form of the subject. The result is a visual stratification that generates new points of view, amplifying the expressive power of the image and creating a balance between historical identity and poetic reinterpretation.

The exhibited works thus become visual places where past and present coexist, giving life to a photographic narrative that blends classicism, light, and contemporary vision.
