This photograph captures a fragment of a white marble sculpture emerging from darkness, suspended between the presence of classical beauty and an altered, almost otherworldly visual dimension.

The sculpture appears partially incomplete, with missing sections that expose the fragility and impermanence of the material. Its white marble surface contrasts sharply with the surrounding darkness, while deep shadows and subtle blue and violet reflections envelop the figure, transforming its original appearance.

Through digital post-processing, the atmosphere is deliberately altered to intensify the luminous qualities of the marble. The interplay of light and shadow recalls the dramatic chiaroscuro of Caravaggio, while the introduction of futuristic chromatic reflections creates a visual language that moves beyond traditional representations of sculpture.

Black dominates the composition, absorbing much of the surrounding space. Against this darkness, coloured reflections and solarisation effects generate unexpected bursts of light, producing a luminous rebound across the marble surface. The result is a tension between shadow and illumination, classical matter and digital transformation.

The work explores the relationship between sculpture, photography and digital manipulation, questioning how light can redefine the perception of an object. What remains is a fragment suspended between past and future, where the timeless presence of marble encounters an artificial and constantly evolving visual reality.
