ABC#132 Universo is the work with which the artist won the 61st Silver Thistle. It depicts a sculptural bust, probably of Apollo, photographed in the archaeological museum of Kos. The work is a photomontage, where the marble bust, with an opaque rendering, is set against a blue background, with bright orange clouds below to create a contrast between complementary colours. The narrative explores how the beauty of the classical Greek and Roman eras, although not always physically present, continues to influence contemporary aesthetics, as a timeless beauty that remains alive in the spirit of humanity.
